Kettle Corn Factory - history of this flavored popcorn treat

History of Kettle Corn – a tradition that dates back to the Pioneers:

In the 1800's, American pioneers of German decent made popcorn in large cast iron kettles over wood fires. For a special treat they would make "sugar corn" by sprinkling a little sugar over the freshly popped corn. Over time molasses, honey, or cane sugar were simply added while the corn popped in the kettle, creating a very unique and delicious treat known as "Kettle Corn."

The tradition continues today:

The Kettle Corn Factory re-creates the style and taste of the frontier-era by stirring each batch by hand over an open fired kettle under the watchful eye of our Kettlemeister.
